Oxford range is made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) oak. FSC certificate means that timber is tracked along the supply chain from the forest to the shelf, great care is always taken to select oak from well - managed forests. Large sections of FSC oak used in all parts of this bench ensure strength and long life. Wide, thick and shaped top rail is perfect to wood engraving with large deep cut lettering. Oxford bench is a heavy and strong bench perfect for public places such as parks, church yards, cemeteries, bus stops, schools etc.

Free 1.2m bench cushion:
2 seater bench cushions are made using the finest 180 gram spun polyester. This is the perfect material to use for garden cushions. This cushion is boxed and double piped to give a luxurious look and feel.
The cushion is zipped thus making it machine washable at 40°C. The polyester fabric is inherently fade, rot, shrink, crumple and stain resistant. We recommend this cushion is stored in a dry and safe environment throughout the winter months, this will ensure your cushion stays in good condition.

Oak is a natural timber with a beautiful grain.
European oak is FSC Certified and does not in any way contribute to deforestation.
The oak has been treated at source with a sealer and wood preservative. Once outside this will last about 6 months depending on the elements.
It is important that further treatment is applied as soon as you see the colour fading and the wood grain rising. This treatment allows you to maintain the natural look of you bench, whilst extending its longevity so you get maximum use out of your bench.
The recommended maintenance kit comprising of 500ml wood cleaner, 500ml oil, sponge, cotton cloth, paint brush, cleaning brush, sand paper and gloves is supplied with your bench. Additional maintenance kits or Osmo oil can be also purchased.
Treatment should be repeated as and when you experience the same indications in future years. Although this will reduce the amount of cracking that the wood will produce over the years, it will not prevent it totally.
The oak has been constructed in such a way that any cracks will not affect its ability to perform as a piece of furniture. Oak is a wide grained wood and cracks or shakes will open and close depending on the weather. These add to its character and are typical of this well know timber.
If the furniture is not re-treated it will start to weather very quickly and will adopt all the characteristics of oak - i.e. changing to silver in colour and developing shakes, throughout the life of the furniture.
We will not exchange any piece of furniture because of cracking unless it affects its structure and it is no longer fit for use.
Oak is a natural product and will weather inconsistently. However, its beautiful characteristics will develop and become uniform over time.

The ceramic plaque represents a radically new and exclusive process which recreates any photograph three dimensionally. The edges taper to an approximate 2mm from a central height of 7mm. The World's first ceramic photograph is classical, elegant and tactile. The image will not deteriorate; it is a vitrified body that is protected against all weather and conditions, including frost. For each commission two plaques are supplied (one is fitted to your bench). Subsequent ceramics from the original moulds can be supplied quite easily and are priced accordingly. The ceramic photograph will be glued into a routed recess on the top rail free of charge. When you place your order please email us a high resolution photograph or alternatively post it so we can professionally scan the picture for the process and have it returned together with end product.
